Understanding your sleep health, sleep apnea and CPAP therapy

From Sleep Study to PAP device, Final Step

From Sleep Study to PAP device, Final Step

Now that you have your PAP device, great sleep is imminent. You have taken it out of the box and oriented yourself to every part inside. The PAP is now plugged in, the tubing is connected and your mask is on. The automatic on/off (not available on all units) turns on and your first night sleep is underway. The ramp time is enabled and the pressure is gently increasing (not always needed for everyone). You slip into slumber.

At this point most will recognize a few things.

The air speed will increase and hold at one speed for the rest of the night or it’s already working that way from the start.

When this happens, some might wake up and struggle while others will be alright.

Sometimes the mask just isn’t right and other nights, it’s perfect.

And finally…

The PAP experience does vary from night to night, especially if you are new to this therapy.

This means questions and concerns are inevitable. And for this reason, you can rest assured because we will work with you during your first month and beyond at no extra cost. Good sleep is coming. So, you can expect phone calls, email, etc. follow-ups from our friendly qualified staff to assist you in improving and maintaining your PAP success.
