Airsense 10- Three Important Things That Will Surprise You

Despite being fresh out of the box, the Resmed Airsense 10 comes ready to use in most situations. Here are three things not readily obvious when using your new Airsense 10:

1) When the device runs without your mask on, it will shut off after a few seconds. This will only happen if Smartstart is enabled. What does this do?

  • Simplifies the Process: With SmartStart enabled, the CPAP machine automatically begins therapy when you put on your mask and start breathing. This eliminates the need to manually turn the machine on, making it more user-friendly, especially for individuals who may find it difficult to navigate controls.
  • Automatic Shutoff: When you remove the mask, the machine detects the change and stops automatically after a brief delay. This ensures that the machine is only running when needed, contributing to ease of use.
  • Hassle-Free Start: By removing the step of manually turning the machine on and off, SmartStart makes it more likely that users will adhere to their therapy. Users are more inclined to use the machine regularly if it’s simple and automatic.
  • Reduces User Error: Users might forget to turn the machine on or off. SmartStart reduces this risk, ensuring therapy is administered correctly each night.

2) The unit display dims to black within a few minutes. The automatic stop feature ensures that the machine isn’t running when it’s not needed, conserving energy and potentially extending the machine’s lifespan.

3)  When the Airsense 10 is running, it can have automatic ramp enabled, which means the unit waits for you to fall asleep, detects your sleep and raises the pressure to your prescribed setting.

Good things continue to be discovered in this latest installment from Resmed in PAP devices.

ResMed is the best machines… I was not happy with the phillips system. Thanks for putting the information together!!

  2. I really like the Airsense 10 so far. I’m not sure how it will do in the “longer term”, but I’m currently testing it. This is a great machine! I have found that auto setting for humidity, temp, and hose temp set to “automatic” is just perfect.

  3. Differences between the models are highlighted as well as included components and features. This was really comfortable to me!

  4. I loved this because it offers slightly enhanced event detection software. Specifically, it can detect central sleep apnea.
